MY METHODS

DSC01127.jpeg

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY (CBT)

Identifying the relationship between emotions, thoughts and behaviors in order to better cope with environmental and internal stressors that inhibit daily living and quality of life.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (DBT)

Using a combination of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills to effectively navigate strong emotional and environmental triggers.

EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION & REPROCESSING (EMDR)

A specific type of trauma therapy that utilizes bi-lateral stimulation (eye movements) in order to combat negative core beliefs associated with past or present trauma.

CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

What we believe about God, suffering, our neighbors, and ourselves impacts our journey toward healing. Counseling from a faith-based perspective can increase intimacy with the Divine and empower a more Biblically centered form of shalom, or peace. Christian counseling can be paired with any of the above modalities and is only used with client consent.

All sessions are led with a client-centered approach to therapy which means that regardless of the modality, your needs and strengths are prioritized before any specific therapeutic technique. No modality is used without client consent.
